Salt-X neutralizes salt corrosion, and once left on to air dry, it will leave a protective coating that gives further protection from corrosion. Salt-X can be applied to any part of your boat, trailer, Jet Ski, yacht, fishing tackle, outboard motor, 4x4, or scuba gear. It is safe to apply to all these items with total confidence. Salt-X is brilliant for use as an engine cooling system flush as it travels through the galleries in your engine and destroys the salt that resides in the cooling system once your engine is turned off. (View pictures) To flush your motor you can attach the Auto Mix Unit to your engine flushing unit which measures the amount of Salt-X for the last 20 seconds of the flushing cycle or you can add it to your water drum and flush your outboard. Spraying boat trailers after submerging into seawater is recommended, a light spray will stop the corrosion

FOR OUTBOARD MOTORS AND LOWER DRIVE UNITS:
Mix 1 cap fill (15ml) SALT-X per 1 litre of water in a clean container that your motor or lower unit will fit into. Make sure to COMPLETELY SUBMERGE the water intake. Run engine on fast idle until water begins to exit exhaust port. Then run for 15 seconds and shut off. If using a motor flush unit, attach the AUTO-MIX UNIT and follow instructions.
FOR ALL VEHICLES (Boats, Trailers, Mobile homes ):
Mix 1 cap fill (15ml) per 1 litre of water in a clean bucket or sprayer. Spray or brush SALT-X on surface thoroughly. For spraying undersides of vehicles, trailers or hard to reach areas, use a tank sprayer or the AUTO-MIX UNIT for best results.
FOR SMALL ITEMS (fishing reels, engine parts, tools etc):
Soak for 5 minutes in a bucket of SALT-X solution and let dry. For heavily salt encrusted items, soak for several hours or overnight. Windows and chrome areas may have to be wiped down with a soft, dry cloth.

I took my Quintrex Hornet 435 to the Victoria River in the N.T. for a 12 day fishing trip. The conditions were extremely harsh in very dirty tidal water. My motor leg was white from the salt build up. With 40 deg heat, the salt dried on each day leaving a thicker coating on the motor, boat and trailer. On returning the lot was left in the shed for 2 months without washing.
The damage to the boat was so bad that I considered using a panel beater. I'd tried everything including car polish, but it wouldn't remove the build up around the weld joints.
I read an article in Club Marine magazine and decided to try the Salt-X products. To see the boat now you'd swear I spent 3 days polishing it! The motor looks brand new, the galvanised trailer is great, I'm wrapped. SaltBuster is fantastic stuff. I used the Auto Mix unit to flush out the motor and it made it so much easier. I wished I'd taken a before and after photo. I won't go anywhere without Salt-X and SaltBuster again. I can't praise it highly enough. |
